Kathleen's investigation takes her closer to the heart of power in L.A. but also to the realization that Lionel was murdered. The author of Keeping Counsel and Beyond Malice does what one expects of a good writer of legal thrillers, i.e., drives the plot through unexpected twists without overstretching the bounds of credible law. But Forster adds a bonus by transcending the flat stereotypes of the genre and creating, instead, diverse and realistically drawn characters.

Excellent, fast moving plot and compelling characters

R.A. Forster's legal thrillers are true entertainment. Kept me on the edge all night. I couldn't put the book down. When I found BEYOND MALICE and KEEPING COUNSEL, my weekend flew by. Excellent writing

Another Forster Good Read

I am becoming a fan of Rebecca Forster and this book was no exception. It was well written along with believable characters that drew me into their lives. I found the book to be very interesting and surprised by many of the turn of events which is what a good mystery should do. I plan on reading more of her books.

A 4 1/2 star page-turner.

Kathleen Cotter joins her uncle's prestigious law firm, only to discover it is actually a run-down business with few clients. But she gets caught up in a case in which she has to show the character of a dead man to prove he did not commit suicide. This challenge brings murder, excitement, danger, and courtroom drama that twists through relationships, money, and power. And, Kathleen's need to discover her uncle's secrets, and why he has pretended he was a success all these years. Very good book.
