uneven quality

The first part of this book is an odd collection of memories of meetings between Katie Byron and the author which seem to make her out to be unpredictable and unpleasant. Its badly written and should have been properly edited. Even the English is ungrammatical and the whole thing looks as if it has been put together in a couple of days, if not hours. The second part is better and shows us many examples of Byrons work in action. However, I must say that I found the very short enquiries to be very implausible and lacking in the realistic resistance that you find in the longer dialogues of Byrons own books.It seems improbable that in the space of one page someone would change their mind completely about such sesnsitive topics as war or abortion or death. In the end the book convinced me that doing The Work can be helpful at times for questioning stressful beliefs but only as a useful tool to be used sparingly. otherwise it could easily become an obsession and lead you round in circles. All in all I think this book is ok if you already know Byrons work and want a few more examples of it. But for newcomers it might be better to buy Loving What Is by Katie Byron to get a more complete idea of how to use this useful DIY technique.

An objective view of the author

I have read and loved most of Byron Katie's books. But I was left wondering about these people she converses with, who experience these epiphanies, do they go on to continual progress, or do they merely regress into the old way of thinking. Moritz Boemer was was of these people, in fact, I remembered his conversation with her detailed in one of her books, and I was very pleased to read his feedback on his experience and how it went on to transform his life. If you haven't read Byron Katie's books, I suggest you check those out first, starting with Loving What Is.

Wonderful summary of the Byron Katie work

This is a fabulous little book that is an offshoot of the Byron Katie work and gives a comprehensive summary of the four questions via individual experiences as relayed by the author. I highly recommend it since it takes "The Work" to a very practical, applicable level inviting the reader to begin using the questions for use in ordinary everyday life.
